Our rating:

Quentin Tarantino's slick and fast-paced third film, based on an Elmore Leonard novel, is a tight thriller centred around blaxploitation star Pam Grier, who plays Jackie Brown, a strong woman approaching the end of her career as an air hostess. She's been trafficking 'hot' money for gangster Ordell Robbie (Samuel L Jackson), but when she ends up carrying enough cash to retire on, she decides to fly solo, so long as she can outfox Ordell, the cops and the feds.
