Our rating:

The first MGM sound film (with synchronized sound effects and music) portrays an alcoholic doctor (Monte Blue) who attempts to protect a tribe of natives in the South Seas from the chicanery of an unprincipled trader (Robert Anderson) .

Raquel Torres convincingly co-stars as a native girl. The movie was magnificently filmed entirely on location in the Marquesas Islands.
