In Bambino Mio Julie Walters, gives one of the most powerful performances of her career in this dramatic story of one woman’s heartbreaking search for the child she cannot have. Alice (Walters) is a 40 year-old rich, beautiful Englishwoman, who lives in an idyllic French chateau with her younger lover. Although happy enough with her daily life, she is haunted by her inability to have children and by local laws, which do not allow single women to adopt.
When she hears a friend has adopted a baby from a Central American country, Alice begins a long and painful struggle to find a child of her own. Bambino Mio also stars Georges Corraface and John McArdle. The script is by Oscar-winning writer Colin Welland.
