Blood Brothers (Channel 9 2011, Lisa McCune, Tony Martin)

Channel 9 stay on their true crime trip with telemovie Blood Brothers which is based on the real life story of Jeffrey Gilham who despite seeming to have it all apparently murdered his entire family.

Gilham, living in the heart of the well to do Shire district of Sydney is a champion athlete, well educated and handsome. To all intents and purposes the model son but on a winter’s night in 1993 his parents and brother were brutally murdered and Gilham was prime suspect.

This fascinating one off drama tells the story from the perspective of Gilham’s brother Tony who always believed in Jeffrey’s innocence and embarked on a 14 year crusade to prove it and also that of Crown Prosecutor Margaret Kennedy who had a seemingly unwinnable case on her hands.

The court scenes were actually filmed at Darlinghurst Courts where the original trial was held.
