BritBox Australia’s July 2025 Line-Up Led by Outrageous and The Cleaner

BritBox Australia reveals July 2025 line-up, headlined by Outrageous and The Cleaner.

Outrageous Cast

BritBox Australia has announced a high-impact July slate featuring period scandal, pitch-black comedy and icy documentary drama, as it pushes for growth with a mix of prestige premieres and proven fan favourites.

Leading the schedule is the territory debut of Outrageous, a dramatized retelling of the Mitford sisters’ rise—and notoriety—in 1930s Britain. Launching Thursday 24 July, the series stars Bessie Carter, Joanna Vanderham and Anna Chancellor, and positions itself as a sharp-edged counterweight to traditional period fare. Greg Davies also returns in the third season of The Cleaner (from 3 July), joined by Steve Pemberton, Sharon Rooney and Ben Willbond in guest roles, as Wicky resumes his post-crime-scene deep cleans with typically chaotic results.

Elsewhere, The Bay resumes with a fifth season on 30 July, with Marsha Thomason’s DS Jenn Townsend taking on a case that cuts uncomfortably close to home. Rounding out the month’s drama highlights are true crime doc Fergie’s Killer Dresser (1 July), and the return of Midsomer Murders with Series 24 from 11 July.

BritBox has paired its drama offering with two flagship factual releases aimed at eco-aware and nature-curious audiences. The Secret Life of Bees (8 July), hosted by Steve Backshall, offers an intimate look at bee behaviour across the UK. The Arctic: 66.5 Degrees North, streaming from 17 July, brings two years of filming in Greenland, Svalbard, Canada and Russia to screen, with narration by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Following recent shifts in BBC and ITV’s global content partnerships, the streamer’s local arm is sharpening its appeal to Anglophile audiences—particularly those underserved by mainstream platforms.

The inclusion of high-gloss originals like Outrageous alongside returning procedural staples points to a two-tier approach: event television to drive buzz, and dependable titles to retain core subscribers. It also positions BritBox to capitalise on viewer interest in smartly packaged UK content that sits between prestige drama and comfort viewing.

All titles will be available to stream on BritBox Australia from their respective July launch dates.
