Brothers in Law | 1957 | Ian Carmichael, Richard Attenborough

An esteemed cast of British luvvy talent (Ian Carmichael, Richard Attenborough etc.) head the cast of this legal comedy drama, with the former as the idealistic young barrister whose senior partner has a habit of sending him off to tackle cases he’s clearly not yet qualified for.

The courtroom scenes are witty and engaging, while the script itself creates the kind of eccentric characters that would only ever appear in a British film of this nature. Extremely enjoyable.

Ian Carmichael as Roger Thursby
Richard Attenborough as Henry Marshall
Terry-Thomas as Alfred Green
Jill Adams as Sally Smith
Leslie Phillips as Shop Assistant
