Action adventure series Chopper Squad detailed the cases of the crew of the Helicopter Rescue Service. The show was preceded by a 90 minute pilot edition produced by Roger Mirams (Rebecca Gilling also appeared in the pilot). So pleased with this pilot were 10 that they decided to commission a series even before the pilot aired.
Season one saw the team based at Dee Why Surf Club and in season two they were based at North Palm Beach.
The helicopter used in the show was a Bell Jet Ranger 2 although the pilot featured an Airfast helicopter.
