Dan August was an early headlining role for soon to be major movie star Burt Reynolds, this crime drama series had Detective Lieutenant Dan August working out of Santa Luisa, California.
Because he had grown up in the area August had a tendency to get personally involved in the cases he was working on.
Cancelled after one season but re-run twice (up to 1975) to much larger audiences thanks to Reynolds’ burgeoning movie popularity.
