Like the superlative jobs done with Shakespeare and the Canterbury tales the BBC now take on a quartet of classic fairy tales made famous by The Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen and Charles Perrault – Rapunzel, Cinderella, The Emperor’s New Clothes and Billy Goats Gruff – are re-invigorated and updated by contemporary writers Ed Roe, Richard Pinto, Anil Gupta, Debbie Horsfield and Jeremy Dyson and brought to life by a host of British acting talent.

The casts included the likes of Geraldine James, Alex Jennings, Lee Ingleby and Denise Van Outen.
