Hostile Witness | 1968 | Ray Milland, Sylvia Syms

A British barrister vows revenge when his daughter is killed in a hit-and-run accident. He is subsequently accused of committing an unrelated murder, and the finger of suspicion in his daughter’s death begins to points to him as well.

The film’s tense courtroom showdown reveals the links between events. This puzzle-within-a-puzzle is directed by Ray Milland, who also plays the barrister. Hostile Witness is based on the 1966 play of the same name in which Ray Milland made his Broadway debut.
