Steven Mackintosh and Ashley Walters lead the cast in heist crime thriller Inside Men which follows a trio of employers at a security firm who plan to pull off a multi-million pound robbery.
Mackintosh plays John who is the manager of cash counting house who is desperate to break out of his humdrum life and hits upon the idea of robbing the company he works for, he persuades security guard Chris (Walters) and forklift driver Marcus (the excellent Warren Brown from Luther) to join him in the heist. None of the three have any previous “hiest pulling off” experience but all see the chance to make a better life for themselves.
Also in the cast is Kieston Wareing who is fast becoming Keeley Hawes like with her roles in every TV show on air at the moment and writer Basgallop says of the production that it is the story of an old-school cash robbery but with the ‘geezer’ element removed. It’s a study in what it takes for a modern man to step up, assert himself, and have the courage to take something by force. How do you go from being a beta male to an alpha male, and what are the implications on your everyday life?” Which of course is the kind of everyman thing that Basgallop excels at writing about.
