John Carpenter Presents Frankenstein Double Bill On TCM’s Two for One

Turner Classic Movies’ Two for One series continues its filmmaker-curated double features with a dive into the legacy of Frankenstein, presented by director John Carpenter. The episode, “John Carpenter – Frankenstein & The Curse of Frankenstein,” airs Saturday, May 17, at 8:00 PM ET.

The evening will feature screenings of James Whale’s 1931 classic Frankenstein, adapted from Peggy Webling’s 1927 play, and Hammer Film Productions’ 1957 Technicolor entry, The Curse of Frankenstein, which starred Peter Cushing as Victor Frankenstein and Christopher Lee as the Creature. Carpenter will join host Ben Mankiewicz to introduce the films, offering his perspective on their cultural significance, influence on cinema, behind-the-scenes details, and personal reflections. Two for One regularly features celebrated filmmakers selecting and discussing two films that hold particular importance for them.
