Brasher, a financially strapped single parent of two teenage sons, Daniel (Gregory Smith) and Elvis (Mason Gamble), is a hardworking mom full of love who will do anything to give her kids every advantage.

When Kate walks through the doors of Brothers Keepers asking for legal advice, it changes her life forever. There she encounters a feisty attorney, Abbie Schaeffer (Rhea Perlman), and the center’s tough, street-smart director, Joe Almeida (Hector Elizondo). Together, they show Kate that by helping others she can create a better life for herself and her boys.
