Kim Philby: His Most Intimate Betrayal (BBC-2 2014, Ben Macintyre)

In documentary His Most Intimate Betrayal author Ben Macintyre presents a two part look at the infamous Soviet double agent Kim Philby who worked for British Intelligence whilst also working for the Russians in both the NKVD and KGB.

Philby was one of the “Cambridge Five” quintet who were all recruited to work for the Russians whilst at Cambridge University. Philby defected to the Soviet Union in 1963 when his activities were uncovered.

This ambitious and illuminating documentary covers all the facts surrounding his life as well as featuring dramatisations of some of the key events.
