Lust for a Vampire | Hammer 1971 | Yutte Stensgaard, Ralph Bates

Voluptuous vampire Carmilla Karnstein (Yutte Stensgaard) returns from the dead to seduce the female pupils of an exclusive mid-European finishing school in this formulaic but fun Hammer schlock-horror comic.

The Swedish blonde fills her period costume in all the right places, but her performance is as wooden as the stake with which her enamoured English teacher (Michael Johnson) pursues her through the swirling studio fog. Director Sangster described this second entry in the Carmilla series as ‘an embarrassment’ and well he might as the lesbian sex scenes are coy and crudely handled, but the girls look good enough to eat and several sequences are eerily effective.
