Bridge on the River Kwai, The (1957, Alec Guinness, William Holden)

In David Lean's seven Oscar-winning Second World War classic, Alec Guinness stars as Colonel Nicholson, the commanding officer of British PoWs in Burma. The prisoners are ordered by their Japanese captors to construct a bridge of strategic importance and are happy to sabotage and delay progress - until Nicholson orders them to continue the work unhindered to its completion. But are his actions tantamount to collaborating with the enemy?
