Netflix To Bow French True Crime Doc Cocaine Air

Netflix has slated Cocaine Air: Smugglers at 30,000 Ft., a true-crime documentary series hailing from France, for a global premiere on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

The series revisits the notorious “Air Cocaine” affair, a high-profile case from over a decade ago. In March 2013, authorities in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, seized 680 kg of cocaine aboard a private Falcon 50 jet preparing for departure to Saint-Tropez, France. Four French citizens—two ex-military pilots and two passengers—were apprehended.

The discovery of 26 suitcases packed with cocaine ignited a major scandal, which intensified when former French President Nicolas Sarkozy faced investigation for a potential connection to the operation. Cocaine Air aims to unpack the still-lingering questions: who truly owned the luggage, and who was ultimately pulling the strings in the smuggling ring?
