Performance: The Deep Blue Sea (BBc-2 1994, Colin Firth, Ian Holm)

Period drama The Deep Blue Sea was based on a highly successful 1950′s play by Terence Rattigan and was part of the BBC’s Performance strand of generally excellent dramas, all shot in the studio for a real play like feel. The story was set in the 1940′s and saw middle aged Hester Collyer take young RAF pilot Freddie Page as her lover.
