Play for Today: The Lonely Man’s Lover (BBC-1 1974, Jan Francis, Struan Rodger)

The Lonely Man’s Lover was a drama in the Play For Today strand. In a small Yorkshire village young farm girl Lizzie has her eyes opened to life by the arrival of a poet.

There were scenes from a medieval/pagan Pace Egg Play which were performed by members of Calder High School and the music was by The Oldham Tinkers who the year before had featured in another Play For Today called Kisses At Fifty.
