CBS’s long-running tactical drama S.W.A.T. gears up for its explosive series finale, with Hondo Harrelson and the 20-Squad facing their most formidable threat yet: a ruthless crew of ex-pat Russian mercenaries holding Los Angeles hostage. The concluding episode, “Return to Base,” which serves as the second part of a two-hour finale event, is set for Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10:00 PM ET.
The stakes are city-wide as the mercenaries, led by the brutal Dmitri Rykov, plant hundreds of hidden explosives across Los Angeles in an extortion bid for Rykov’s release. The situation escalates dramatically when Rykov is brought to S.W.A.T. headquarters for safekeeping, only for the very nerve center of LA’s elite tactical unit to come under direct assault.
