Shameik Moore has been officially unveiled as the much-anticipated character Breeze in Power Book III: Raising Kanan, making his debut in the Season Four finale. Moore is set to be a series regular for the show’s upcoming fifth season, which Starz has now confirmed will be its last.
The introduction of Breeze, a pivotal figure in Power mythology, directly links the prequel to the mothership series. In the lore, Breeze is the Jamaica, Queens drug kingpin who takes young Kanan Stark, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, and Tommy Egan under his wing. In the Season Four closer of Raising Kanan, Snaps (Wendell Pierce) and Pop (Erika Woods) introduce Kanan (MeKai Curtis) to Moore’s character, setting the stage for a significant arc.
Sascha Penn, executive producer, writer, and showrunner for Raising Kanan, stated that a five-season run was always the creative plan. Season Four saw Kanan and his mother Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller) navigate a fragile truce, while Unique (Joey Bada) stirred turmoil from the background.
Moore, known for voicing Miles Morales in Sony’s Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse franchise and for his role as Raekwon in Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga, spoke on taking on the role. “I jumped into a story that is already alive with such strong characters, but it was a fun challenge to find Breeze’s unique identity, and I can’t wait for fans to see how Breeze will shift dynamics in the story. It’s gonna be a wild ride.”
Courtney A. Kemp, creator of the original Power, executive produces across the Power Universe via her End of Episode production company.
Moore will also appear in RZA’s One Spoon of Chocolate, which is premiering at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
All four seasons of Power Book III: Raising Kanan are currently available on the Starz app and its on-demand platforms.
