Drama series The Slap lays bare modern day Australian life with its story of an event that has shattering repercussions for all those involved in it.
The event takes place at an ordinary summer barbecue in the Australian suburbs when a man slaps a boy who is not his own son. Opening up a real can of worms the boys parents decide to call in the police and press charges for assault forcing everyone involved to take sides.
A US adaptation was mounted by NBC in 2015. Melissa George reprised her role of Rosie.
