BBC One’s Songs of Praise turns its focus to the strength of faith-filled friendships in an episode airing Sunday, May 18, at 12:00 PM ET. Laura Wright hosts the installment, titled “Faith and Friendship.”
Wright speaks with Christian author Sheridan Voysey about the significance of friendship, particularly in modern life where Voysey’s research indicates a decline in deep connections. The program also features Mandy and Nicki, friends who express their faith through an evangelical cabaret-style act and community arts work. Their act previously toured for nearly two decades. Additionally, teenage friends Alaric and Jonathan discuss how their shared faith and love for poetry help them support one another, tackling disability and different communication methods.
The episode will include hymns such as “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “The Lord’s My Shepherd,” recorded in locations across the UK including Croydon, Penzance, and Bognor Regis.
