Stardust | 1974 | David Essex, Adam Faith

Follow-up to That’ll Be the Day which scores highly. Jim Maclaine (David Essex) has traded his wife and security for a life on the road with his guitar. Persuading fairground hustler Mike Menary (Faith) to manage him and his group, he achieves rapid success – and an equally rapid descent into drug abuse and burn-out. Essex is acted off the screen by Adam Faith, whose portrayal of the amoral manager is a study in wickedness.
