Sir David Suchet, known globally for his portrayal of Hercule Poirot, is set to host Travels With Agatha Christie, a new series premiering on More4 Wednesday, 21 May at 9:00 PM BST. The program will see Suchet trace the author’s journeys that informed her celebrated works.
The inaugural episode finds Suchet recreating Agatha Christie’s 1922 voyage to southern Africa. His exploration includes visits to vineyards, diamond mines, and the Victoria Falls, examining how these experiences influenced Christie’s writing, particularly her novel The Man in the Brown Suit. The series will also see Suchet address the complicated legacy of British imperialist Cecil Rhodes as he visits locations pivotal to Christie’s life and the real-world inspirations for her crime novels.
