World of Cilla, The (BBC-1 1973,  Cilla Black, Sam Kelly)

Comedy The World of Cilla was a one off that made up the second half of a one hour variety show, entertainer Cilla Black has tried her hand at acting many times over the years and here she played is a nervous bride to be. It was in effect a pilot for a possible series that never emerged.

Over the next couple of years Cilla revived the format for a stab at the sitcom genre twice more with two anthology series Cilla’s Comedy Six and Cilla’s World of Comedy. Both featured six one off comedies (most of them two handers) written by Ronnie Taylor.
